Elders

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
1 Peter 5:1-3

Elders are responsible for: the primary leadership and oversight of a church, leading the church (1 Tim 5:17; Titus 1:7; 1 Peter 5:1-2), the teaching and preaching of the Word (1 Timothy 3:2; 2 Timothy 4:2; Titus 1:9), protecting the church from false teachers (Acts 20:17, 28-31), exhorting and admonishing the saints in sound doctrine (1 Timothy 4:13; 2 Timothy 3:13-17; Titus 1:9), visiting the sick and praying (James 5:14; Acts 20:35), and judging doctrinal issues (Acts 15:16)
